Leadership Now creates safe space for young people to explore question of meaning and vocation. Space for struggling, thinking, exploring, learning and seeking deep faith.
 Leadership Now opens possibilities for connecting faith with action in the world. We offer youth a larger context for examining what it means to be part of the Body of Christ, tying together practices like prayer and peacemaking. We enable students and teachers to construct communities where dialogue encourages the expression of faith in action. We hope that the skills and enthusiasm of young people will bring new life to their faith traditions.
Leadership Now is a program of Lancaster Theological Seminary funded in part by the Lilly Endowment.

Youth Program Garners Major Support from Foundation
Lancaster Seminary’s Leadership Now: Spiritual Formation with Youth program has received an additional multi-year grant of $939,000 from Lilly Endowment, Inc. Impressed with the work the program has accomplished over the past eight years, Lilly not only funded the full request but chose to increase the amount awarded by $175,000. The Endowment’s program officer has noted that Lancaster’s Leadership Now program is among the top programs of its kind in the United States.
The mission of Leadership Now is to empower youth to live out their commitments as people of faith with a particular emphasis on equipping them for leadership roles in church and society. Its impact can be seen in the lives of youth participants and the congregations in which youth share their creative gifts.
This generous grant from Lilly will be used to expand a robust set of programs that includes an annual summer leadership academy and cross-cultural trip to another nation. The seminary continues to raise funds for the benefit of this acclaimed initiative. |
